Total Time:155 minutes
Yield:24 chocolates 1x
Ingredients
Scale
2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup of heavy cream
2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 cup of powdered sugar
1 cup of crushed nuts (optional)
1 cup of confectioner’s chocolate for coating
Heart-shaped molds
Decorative sprinkles for garnishing
Candy wrappers or boxes for gifting
Instructions
Start by placing the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl. In a separate saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
Stir the mixture gently with a spatula or whisk until it's smooth. Add in the butter and vanilla extract, and mix until fully incorporated. Fold in crushed nuts if desired.
Gradually sift in the powdered sugar, stirring continuously until there are no lumps. Ensure the mixture is thick but pourable.
Fill your heart-shaped molds with the chocolate mixture, tap the molds gently on the counter to remove air bubbles, and smooth the tops if necessary. Allow to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Transfer the molds to the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to firm up completely.
Melt the confectioner’s chocolate and dip each chocolate piece into the melted chocolate until fully coated. Place on a parchment-lined tray and decorate with sprinkles while still wet. Allow to set completely before packaging.
