4 cups of water
1-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
1-inch piece of fresh turmeric, peeled and sliced (or 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder)
1 tablespoon of honey or maple syrup (or to taste)
1 lemon wedge (optional)
A pinch of black pepper
Boil the Water: In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
Add Ginger and Turmeric: Add the sliced ginger and turmeric (or turmeric powder) to the boiling water.
Simmer: Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes. This allows the flavors to fully infuse into the water.
Strain: Remove the saucepan from the heat and strain the tea through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the ginger and turmeric pieces.
Sweeten and Serve: Pour the tea into a mug and stir in honey or maple syrup to taste. Add a squeeze of lemon for extra flavor and Vitamin C.
Enjoy: Sip slowly and enjoy the soothing warmth and health benefits of your homemade Ginger-Turmeric Tea.
